2:20 PM: Presentation – “The Role of MAT in an abstinent Based Treatment Program: Tapering vs Maintenance and other Issues” – Dr. Rob White, DNP, APN, BC

Learning Objectives:

  • To explain and delineate Medically Assisted Treatment in a Substance Abuse Treatment Program
  • To explain the different components of MAT: ie: Suboxone, Naltrexone, and Vivitrol
  • To demonstrate how MAT and traditional clinical treatment compliment the client’s recovery
  • To address the issue of long term MAT maintenance vs. short term MAT tapering

Instructor Biographie:
Dr. Rob White, DNP, APN, BC
Robert White is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in therapy and psycho-pharmacological treatment across the life span. A graduate of The College of New Jersey and Rutgers University, he also received his Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Rutgers University. Dr. White has over 20 years of practice working in the field of mental health and substance abuse.
